I am in need to 14 fabulous 20 min or less acts for a large event on the
eve of Feb. 10th. 2008. This will definelty need to include a few fire
performers, stilt walkers, jugglers, belly dancers, contortionists, hoop
dancers etc etc and any other acts involving hot females or death defying
feats :>

I have been noticing Harlem Shake for a long time. I am sort of a long-distance fan ha ha, because whenever I find out about your shows it is either already over, or else conflicting with my own schedule. But the concept of Harlem Shake is so 1,000% awesome, that I consider myself a fan anyway.

Back in action!

Hey ya'll...

It's been awhile and we've been busy! We had a mini tour where we
went to NYC for the New York Burlesque Festival, then the following
weekend we did solo gigs: Alotta with Starshine Burlesque in NYC and
myself with the Queen Bees in Seattle as well as the Femme
Conference. Then we were off to Exotic World to shake up the dust in
the middle of hte desert at the Miss Exotic World Pagent were we
performed because we won last year's Best Troupe!!!

Well things are heating up this coming summer starting this Saturday

HARLEM SHAKE BURLESQUE is auditioning female and male dancers who are interested in capturing the essence of a time forgotten while giving an unforgettable performance! As the only existing African American Burlesque Troupe in the country at this time, HARLEM SHAKE BURLESQUEis indeed "changing history one shake at a time!"

Come show us that you've got what it takes to make a proud, sassy, seductive, yet artistic statement that reflects the performances that amazed Burlesque and Vaudeville audiences back in the day!

HARLEM SHAKE BURLESQUE seeks those who:
~Are strong dancers! Official training required; however, the ability to learn choreography and retain it IS required.
~Are able to attend rehearsals twice a week as well as perform shows, attend photo shoots, etc.
~Have the ability to travel outside of the Bay Area for performances; including out of state and internationally.
~Have the ability to represent HARLEM SHAKE BURLESQUE in a
professional manner
~Can work well with others, wants to be part of a group and knows how to HAVE FUN!!!

PLEASE PREPARE A 2-MIN MAX. BURLESQUE PIECE OR CONCEPT WITH CONSIDERATION OF COSTUMES AND PROPS.

Please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to move, as there will be a warm up before you show your pieces. If you are called back, we may ask you to sing a verse or two so be ready!!!

Rest in Peace sweet Sushine

It is with a heavy heart I bring you this news. Many of you may already know. I'm sorry about being late with the posting. I've been back and forth to the hospital helping where i can. Sunny was an amazing presence full of warmth, kindness, sensuality, Diva-power and a bit of mischievousness thrown in for fun. She was a dear friend of mine and Harlem Shake fan. Please join me in sending love and condolenses to her family and boyfriend who is recovering.

bright light that was Sunny Perkins, aka Mia More. She died from
complications of an auto accident that occured early Monday morning.

I'm posting this on here because Sunny is a dear friend of mine and a fan and friend to Harlem Shake. I ask that you all please send loving and healing energy and keep them in your prayers.

I am sad to report that my good friend and dance
troupe partner, Sunny Perkins a.k.a. Mia More, is in a
coma and fighting for her life at the San Jose Medical
Center. She and her boyfriend, Chris Horne, were
seriously injured in a car accident in the early
morning of Monday, September 15. Chris broke his back
in three places and thankfully has movement in his
extremeties. He may be released in the next few days.
Sunny remains in the Intensive Care Unit (where
flowers and balloons are not allowed) and is only able
to receive visits from her immediate family.

Sunny's Dad Skip and Aunt Betsy are sharing shifts at
the hospital and have had their spirits lifted by
meeting Sunny and Chris's friends. Chris has been
grateful to see his friends.

sass and class of the new bump and grind. Harlem
Shake Burlesque known as “The Black Beauties of
Burlesque” are Missy Marmalade, Leetha Hips, Alotta
Boutte’, and Simone de la Getto have been known to
“shake” down a person or two to get what they want;
Goddess of Vintage Burlesque, Isis Starr, she has the
smooth moves of a stiletto and every reason to use
one! Don’t let the smile of Kellita of Hot Pink
Feathers fool you she kills with kindness. Mariposa
Rosa, the Pink Butterfly has fluttered into many
hearts and stopped them dead in their tracks. The pogo
stick talents of Roky Roulette has a reputation of
stomping out the competition. Diamond Daggers’ Cherry
Lixx has sliced clean through many egos with such
implements; and Gorilla X, what would a burlesque show
